A few other bits of important information

• Solos for “Prologue”, “Light of the World”, and “We Beseech Thee” will be assigned later to main players.
• We have decided to split the roles of John and Judas.
• “Beautiful City” – decisions have to be made about where in the show to perform this song, and who will sing it.

I know it is a little unsettling for some of you that are very concrete like me to not know who will do what lines of the script.  It was important to wait until we knew who would be in the cast to make some of those decisions.  Also, some of that will evolve during the rehearsal process.  Don’t be scared of this uncertainty – it will be exciting for all of us, but it will be well worth it.

WOW!! What terrific auditions. I am even more excited about the show now that I have seen everyone. Great job everybody. We are so proud of all of you.

The hardest part of doing the musical is knowing there is no way to avoid someone being hurt and disappointed. We love, respect, and are proud of every one of you. Many of you have worked very hard to improve your skills – and succeeded. Many of you dedicate yourself to the choir department and do whatever is asked – and are appreciated. In the end, however, we must – to be fair to everyone – cast a show based on what we see in front of us. It may be tempting to pick favorites or reward past service, but that would not be honest. The statement “everyone did a terrific job” may fall on deaf ears, but it is true.

Some things to keep in mind…

• Please do not text me about results. If you have any questions or concerns, please come and talk to me in person.
• Some chorus members have grade issues to address. Please begin that process immediately!! Remember that SIX-WEEKS grades are what matter – not SEMESTER.
• Start getting ideas for who might buy ads. They will be due before we leave for Christmas break!!
• Remember to come in Wednesday afternoon to get info and sign off on your part. We won’t be ready for you until after 12:00 or 12:30 (at best). See you then.
• Read-through is Thursday after school until 7:00-ish.
