Everyone did an excellent job on TAKS this year! Carolyn reminded us that the team approach is what is expected. Team leaders will be visiting classes next year to help with the transition to the single block schedule to make sure we are all on the same page.
If you are having any problems, make sure you ask for help, either from Carolyn, your Team Leader, or other members of your team.

Paula will be teaching a class at summer institute on how to incorporate algebra into the geometry curriculum through out the year. Plan to attend if you can. Algebra would incorporate geometry concepts into the assignments as well. We discussed using the worksheets that are already created as supplements to the Geometry assignments. Stephanie used these resources this year and had increased scores are a result.
Prior to TAKS we can split the objectives up and have students or teachers rotate. Apryle suggested that Algebra teachers take objectives 1-5 and Geometry teachers cover 6-10.
Algebra is planning on 6 weeks of review for TAKS and Geometry will have 2 weeks for review. Algebra can send 10th grade students to Geometry during their 2 week reviews since we will have already covered the Algebra review by them.

Happy Blogging.
After reflecting on our AYP and TAKS data, Carolyn asked for a Blog so we could share ideas in a central location. Please contribute to your subject area often and view other subjects for ideas and observations. It would be great for each team leader share something weekly about how students are doing and about new techniques. Thanks in advance for your participation. Together we grow stronger.
